Special Broadcast: A Moment to Save the World
This program aired on March 25, 7:30 PM EDT (Eastern U.S. Time Zone). We based the following on the event description from https://www.collive.com/show_news.rtx?id=49995:
Starting forty years ago, each sitting US President has marked the Rebbe’s birthday as “Education Day, USA“. They recognized the Rebbe’s tremendous focus on education, especially children – both Jewish and non-Jewish.
The Rebbe publicly acknowledged this honor on multiple occasions. In doing so, he urgently called for a daily “Moment of Silence” in U.S. public schools. That is where most American children receive their education.
In particular, the Rebbe articulated his position with great urgency during the televised Farbrengens. He intimated that if the current path of education continues without incorporating a Moment of Silence, calamity is bound to come.
With the rash of school shootings of late, many organizations and Shluchim have noticed skyrocketing interest in understanding the Rebbe’s position on this matter. Therefore, they have requested a clear summary of the Rebbe’s opinion.
In honor of Yud Alef [11th] Nissan, JEM presented a fascinating half-hour broadcast. It culminated weeks of research, curating, translating, writing and technical work. The video summarizes and presents the Rebbe’s approach to this area that, according to the Rebbe, is absolutely essential to our country’s future.
