Invited Lecture – Mitzvot for Gentiles

Dr. Michael Schulman, Director of Asknoah.org, gave an invited lecture on the Noahide Laws and the Noahide movement on Nov. 4, 20’25. He gave this lecture for the community at Chabad of Rechavia in Jerusalem.

Outline of the lecture:

• The 613 Jewish and 7 Noahide Commandments were given by G-d at Mount Sinai
• Source verses in the Five Books of Moses for the 7 Noahide Commandments
• Rambam’s Torah laws of the Noahide Commandments, and the spiritual reward for Pious Gentiles who carefully observe them
• Beginnings of the modern movement: the origin of the word “Noahide”, and the short outreach effort in the early 1900’s
• The 7th Lubavitcher Rebbe launched a global outreach campaign for Gentiles to observe the Noahide Commandments
• The confused state of affairs in the Noahide movement before Ask Noah became active in 19’99
• Rabbi Moshe Weiner compiled Torah laws of the Noahide Code, published by Ask Noah: Sheva Mitzvot HaShem; The Divine Code
• The additional impact of observant Jewish anti-missionary work on boosting the Noahide movement
• The expanding international development of local and on-line Noahide communities
