How did G-d’s Presence Dwell in the Holy of Holies?

Dr. Michael Schulman, Director of Ask Noah International, explains the verse Exodus 25:8 in the Torah portion of Terumah. “And they shall make Me a Sanctuary, and I will dwell within them”. How was it that G-d’s Presence, the Shechinah, dwelled within the portable Tabernacle (Mishkan) that the Jews built at Mount Sinai? Subsequently, the Shechinah dwelled openly within the Holy Temple built by King Solomon in Jerusalem.

It dwelled in the Holy of Holies in the Second Temple in a more hidden way. When the true Messiah (Mashiach) builds the Third Holy Temple, it will dwell there more openly than ever before.

Dr. Schulman explains what these Sanctuaries all had in common, that made them the most holy place on earth. It was the two Tablets of the Ten Commandments in the Holy Ark. (Before the destruction of the First Temple, the Holy Ark was hidden under the Temple Mount.)
