Dr. Schulman of ANI & Dr. Meyer of The Mental Wellness Society

Adapted from the video description:

Dr. Abraham Gerard Meyer is a co-founder of TorahPeutics. It is a platform that combines Torah wisdom with the science of modern therapy. He interviewed Dr. Michael Schulman, Director of the charitable organization Ask Noah International (ANI), in March 20’24. Ask Noah provides Torah-based resources and guidance for Non-Jews, based on the seven universal commandments.

G-d gave these Seven Commandments through Noah after the Flood. They are the foundation for civilized and righteous societies world-wide. Tragically, the teaching of these commandments was suppressed for almost 2,000 years, after the Romans conquered Judea. It was renewed about forty years ago at the insistence of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, in preparation for the Messianic Era.

The Seven Commandments include six prohibitions: idolatry, cursing G-d, forbidden sexual relations, murder and personal injury, theft, and cruelty to animals. There is also the obligation to establish righteous laws and courts. The observance of these commandments is a path of righteousness and spiritual truth. It leads to deeper knowledge of G-d and a closer personal relationship with Him. And very importantly, it brings more righteousness into the world.

Bitachon (trust) in G-d applies to Non-Jews as well Jews. It relieves individuals of the burden of worries and anxieties, knowing that G-d is in control and has a master plan for their lives. This emphasizes the importance of prayer, repentance, and helping others.

Clearly, there is synergy between TorahPeutics and ANI. They both aim to help people by providing guidance based on Torah principles. An example discussed is a correlation between 12-step programs and teachings of the Noahide code. Both emphasize belief in a Higher Power, which is exemplified by trust in G-d.

We intend for this collaboration to benefit all individuals, regardless of their religious background. It combines modern positive psychology with the Divine guidance of Torah.
