If the Garden of Eden is spiritual, did it exist on Earth?

The original Garden of Eden was on Earth, because Adam and Hava (Eve) were created as sinless and immortal. G-d’s Presence (the Shechinah) was dwelling in this world together with them. If Adam and Hava had not sinned, that state of spiritual bliss would have continued to exist in the world. Their sin brought death into the world, by which the soul is separated from the body. This was part of G-d’s plan. In the culmination of the Messianic Era with the Resurrection of the Dead, the world will reach its ultimate perfection.

That future spiritual perfection and bliss will be immeasurably greater than it would have been if they had not sinned. (May it come speedily in our days!) The greater future reward comes from people’s participation in correcting and improving the world through G-d’s teachings in the Torah. Until then, departed souls must suffice with receiving a temporary reward in the levels of the spiritual “Garden of Eden”.
