The Prophets and Sages of the Great Assembly

The Second Holy Temple — The Great Sanhedrin court was adjacent to the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Yosef Eisen reads from his book Miraculous Journey, about the Sages of the Jewish Great Assembly (Great Sanhedrin). Several of these Sages were also the later prophets of the Hebrew Bible (Tanach). The Great Sanhedrin was convened by Ezra near the end of the Babylonian exile, leading into the early part of the Second Temple era (Part 1).
