After the flood, G-d gave seven “Laws of Noah” to Noah and his family, who were the forebears of mankind. This Divine moral code assured them that humanity would not degenerate into a jungle again. These laws, which command the establishment of courts of justice and prohibit idolatry, blasphemy, homicide, incest, robbery, and eating the limb of a live animal (cruelty to animals), are the foundation of all true morality.
G-d subsequently gave these seven commandments for the Gentiles through Moses at Mount Sinai, as part of the Torah. Therefore, Torah is the eternal source that obligates all Gentiles to observe these Divine laws. In modern times, they are known as the Seven Noahide Commandments. When you study them properly, you find that these commandments encompass a wealth of ethics and spirituality that give meaningful purpose to the life of any person. Beyond this, they extend by precepts derived from them into all aspects of moral behavior.
