Reading psalms saved this person’s life
Reading psalms has saved the life of an overdose patient! A Noahide who is a medical doctor sent this heartwarming message to Ask Noah:

I work as a family doctor. I saw a man in his 30s who had taken an overdose the day before. He left the hospital against medical advice. I asked him to see me.
I reminded him that his life had meaning with his trade, his mother and his girlfriend, who all needed him. Then I said that I found comfort in reading psalms, and I showed him Psalm 150. I told him that it talks of praise, music and dance. Also, I advised him that he could read the psalms at night when he had worrisome thoughts. I said to him that I was not after changing his beliefs.
Thank G-d, I was amazed that his response was a like turning on a light switch. He was smiling and calm and shook my hand. This was not a long consultation and therapy, and anti-depressants were not needed.
He has also written to me to say that I have saved his life.
I work in a very secular location. Talking about G-d is not allowed for the staff or the patients. Therefore, if I were to speak openly about G-d, I could lose my job, or worse, if patients complain.
I remain a committed Noahide, but I don’t wish to convert or coerce anyone. Also, my knowledge is limited.
Do you have any suggestions?
Kind regards,
Dr. …
