The video below was originally published on March 1, 20’13. It tells the history behind the founding of the non-profit organization “Love Yourself, Stop the Violence”. It was founded by New York City councilman James E. Davis, may he rest in peace, who was later killed by a random act of street violence. The organization is dedicated to halting inner-city gun crime and drug abuse.
In the video, his brother, Geoffrey Davis, speaks about the original inspiration for this organization, which was the brothers’ childhood friendship with the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, and the values he taught them.
