Short biography by Rabbi Yosef Eisen, of Rabbi Shlomo (Solomon) Yitzchaki (ben Isaac) – known as RASHI. He is the most famed explicator of the Hebrew Bible on the level of peshat (straightforward meaning).

Born: 22 Feb. 1040 C.E. (29 Shevat, 4800). Passed away: 1105 C.E., on the 29th of Tammuz, 4865. (Yahrzeit 28 July in 20’22.)
