Rashi – Audio Biography Lesson

This is a short biography by Rabbi Yosef Eisen, of Rabbi Shlomo (Solomon) Yitzchaki (ben Isaac). He is known as RASHI, which is the acronym for his name. He is the most famed explicator of the Hebrew Bible on the level of peshat (straightforward meaning).

Born: 22 Feb. 1040 C.E. (29 Shevat, 4800). Passed away: 1105 C.E., on the 29th of Tammuz, 4865 (this falls on August 4 in 20’24).
